FIMU - Belfort

The 2022 Fimu Festival

 May 12, 2022

From June 2 to 5, the Fimu Festival (international university music festival) takes over Belfort, transforming the city of the Lion into a huge international music stage for this 35th edition.

For this unmissable event that takes place every year on the Pentecost weekend, the Hôtel Restaurant Les Capucins welcomes you for the duration of your stay, right in the town centre and close to the public car park. A strategic location for fully immersing yourself in the FIMU and enjoying the entertainment in the streets.

Created in 1987, the FIMU is characterised by its unique atmosphere, combining diversity, free admission and conviviality. Indeed, amateur and university musicians from around fifteen different countries come together to share festive moments across an equally varied range of musical genres: jazz, classical, world music, contemporary music, new music, through around a hundred free concerts. It is also an opportunity to meet people of all ages and feel the intergenerational dimension of this festival. This year, Lebanon is in the spotlight of the programme with Bachar Mar-Khalifé as patron; a former Conservatoire student who breaks down musical genre boundaries and who has collaborated with Jeanne Cherhal, Christophe and Le Chapelier Fou alike.
